Making a Watch by Hand

In these days of “fast” and “convenient” I decided to commence a work of “painstaking” and “craftsmanship”, making my own wristwatch, you can make your own watches with the same looks of Rolex replica,Porsche Design replica,Richard Mille replica,Zenith replica,Hublot replica and Ferrari replica watches. I have had the idea for a certain arrangement of the watch dial, as on the image at the right, for a while now. My investigations into available movements showed that no production movement would give me this layout. After a long period of indecision and wondering what I was really getting myself into I decided to make my own movement, followed by the case and dial.

That is a big jump, but we engineers are used to creating things that didn’t exist before so it was mostly the craftsmanship portion of the work that worried me. Am I able to do this watchmakers work, work at such a small scale? To put the chances on my side I decided to do two things: 1) take the watchmaking correspondence course of the BHI, which gave me a lot of the basic skills, but which I have to admit I haven’t even finished the first of three years, and 2) make a complete CAD model of the movement and watch before starting.

My first attempt at making a movement was to make one with all the pinions in a straight line. A simplified movement with the largest possible expansion, to be able to see and work on everything as easily as possible. Even so that first attempt at a movement was not crowned with success. But one learns fastest through failure and the attempt to fathom why, despite ones best efforts, things did not go right. And learn I did.

The following are posts I made to an Internet watchmaking forum describing the advancement of my work during the course of almost a year. From a few square pieces of cold brass to a working movement in a one-of-a-kind case. One of the joys of this work was the constant changes in skillset needed. From machinist to watchmaker to silversmith, etc.. As such the work is never boring, never repetitive, always new challenges and unknowns to be overcome.

The articles below describe the work to make this watch in approximately chronological order starting with cutting the first pieces of brass. At that time I had already spent about 6 months making a complete 3D CAD model of the movement and case along with production drawings of each piece I was going to make. Without such complete preparation such a project is doomed to failure from the beginning. And in spite this preparation, there was still enough that got changed underway or that I discovered that I had forgotten.

Shock Resistance - Another Way to keep your watch safe

The metal case in these watches is highly reactive and conductive. They have the ability to conduct currents to a great extent. Hence, there occurs the need to introduce shock resistant watches to support higher levels of safety. Now there are many shock resistant replica watches in the market, such as Rolex replica,Porsche Design replica,Richard Mille replica,Zenith replica,Hublot replica and Ferrari replica watches.
Springs normally have the tendency to absorb all kinds of shock like thermal, mechanical or electrical and hence are known as shock absorbing materials. In these shock resistant watches, such as Rolex Daytona replica,Rolex Datejust replica,Rolex Yacht-Master replica,Breitling replica,U-Boat replica,Bell&Ross replica,Patek Philippe replica and Omega replicas.the jewels that carry the balance staff are mounted on the springs, these springs on the other hand absorb the shock through the metal case and prevent the breakage of jewels.
Shock resistant watches have the capability to withstand an impact that is equal to that of being dropped onto a wood floor from a height of 3 feet. There are a wide variety of watches available with these shock resistant properties.
Does your job deal with industry and factory with electric current proximity? Get rid of your fear. Choose from the high range of stunning shock resistant watches and enjoy your work with peace of mind. No need to keep your watches in your pocket during work. These are extremely well designed to take up unexpected shocks and keep you safe through out the day.
There are a large number of brands, which specially manufacture these watches. Casio, classic and Timex are some among them. They not only offer you shock resistant features but also scratch resistant features too. For example, ?Timex Men's Iron man Triathlon 30-Lap Shock Resistant Watch? is one of the wonderful collections, which can cost you around $37.

Rolex Watches: Leader In Quality And Craftsmanship

Rolex is just about ?the name? in watches. You can tell by how many replicas and knock offs you come across. Everyone and anyone wants a Rolex watch. You can certainly buy a replica but, an authentic Rolex is much harder, and more expensive to come by,such as its famous series, such as Rolex Daytona replica,Rolex Datejust replica, and Rolex Yacht-Master replica.
window.google_render_ad();
Chances are you have heard of Rolex which is a trademarked name which Hans Wilsdorf created in the 1900?s. The original name for the company was actually in the founder?s name which was ?Wilsdorf & Davis?.
It is not clear how Rolex watches got their however, there is speculation that the word means? movement.? There is another story that it is a French name which means exquisite watch industry. Questions still remain as to the origins of Rolex as the brand name.
Regardless, the name is officially recognized, and Rolex watches are certainly known for quality and craftsmanship. The name was changed to increase the popularity of the watch.
During that time, pocket watches were the rage, and Wilsdorf wanted to change the name to promote Rolex watches. The name was shorter and was easier to pronounce, and the change did turn out to be effective.
By the 1900?s, the name of the company was officially changed to Rolex Watch Company. It is now known throughout the world as Rolex.
But Rolex watches are more than a name and they certainly had to earn and prove their name. They did so successfully. At the time, Rolex watches were innovative and their popularity has sustained throughout the years.
The first waterproof watch was a Rolex. They were the first watch to state the date on them. The first two time zone watches were Rolex watches. They were also the first of the self winding watches. which was run by and internal mechanism, based on movement?s of a person?s arm. This eliminated the problem with over-winding, and winding watches became obsolete.
Rolex were the first watchmakers to earn a certification for chronometer. They still hold the record for most chronometer movements.
Rolex has also played an important role in the origination of quartz watch movements. The engineers, were the first to implement and design quartz movement technology.
Rolex holds a reputation of being very durable and long lasting. They can handle just about any adverse conditions. It has been tested on deep-sea diving, to climbing steep mountains, to aviation and more. Rolex watches are the infamous survivors.
Today, Rolex watches are known as status symbols, even though there are more expensive watches on the market.
Rolex watches have contributed a great deal to the watch industry and the development of long lasting and durable watches. They are the largest selling luxury item in the world today, such as Porsche Design replica,Richard Mille replica,Zenith replica,Hublot replica, Ferrari replica watches, Breitling replica,U-Boat replica,Bell&Ross replica,Patek Philippe replica and Omega replicas.

BATTERY-LESS WATCHES

Seiko started the trend two years ago with the splashy and successful introduction of its Kinetic series of watches. Last year, the Swiss watch giant SMH bought out its own battery-less technology, called Autoquartz, in the Tissot brand. SMH brands Omega and Longines followed this year with their own battery-less models, while Seiko has incorporated Kinetic movements into its new Arctura line. What's gotten into these brands?
1. What are the benefits of a battery-less watch?
- The wearer need never replace the battery.
- The watch will never stop unexpectedly the way a battery-powered watch will when the battery runs down.
- The wearer need not worry about any environmental pollution that could be caused by disposal of used batteries.
2. How do battery-less watches work?
Battery-less watches are powered by the movement of the wearer's arm. That movement causes a weight to move back an forth, which sets a micro-generator spinning which produces electrical energy. The electricity is stored in a capacitor (analogous to a battery in a battery-powered watch).
From this point on, the battery-less watch functions as a normal quartz watch does: the electricity is transmitted to an integrated circuit, which keeps the quartz crystal oscillating at 32,768 Hertz. The integrated circuit sends impulses at one-second intervals to the stepping motor, which powers the gear train, which moves the watch's hands.
3. Who makes battery-less watches?
The major players are Seiko and SMH. Other companies are also experimenting with battery-less technology. Citizen makes a battery-less movement which it sells to Festina for use in its watches, but so far hasn't introduced it into the Citizen brand.
4. Automatic, or self-winding watches are also powered by rotors that turn when the wearer moves his or her arm. Are they the same as the battery-less watches you're talking about?
No. The terms "automatic" and "self-winding" refer to mechanical watches powered by a mainspring (not electricity, as in the new battery-less watches) and using an oscillating balance wheel (rather than a vibrating quartz crystal) to measure time. The only similarity between automatic watches and watches like Seiko's Kinetic or the Omega-matic is the rotating weight that creates the energy to make the movement work.
5. Do all battery-less watches work the same way?
Basically. There are, of course, some variations in the technology used by the different companies. (Seiko, for example, filed 50 patents for its Kinetic movements). The basic principle, thought, is the same: an oscillating weight generates electrical power which is stored and released gradually to power the movement.
6. Don't solar watches such as Citizen's Eco-Drive models also fall into the "battery-less" category?
Not really. It's true these watches don't need to have their batteries replaced ( they are continuously recharged by light), but they do have batteries.
7. Are battery-less watches as accurate as battery-powered ones?
Yes. Both use a quartz crystal as an oscillator, and it is the type of oscillator used that determines a watch's accuracy (in a mechanical watch the balance wheel serves as the oscillator).
8. Since the battery-less watch is powered by the wearer's arm, won't it stop running as soon as the watch is removed?
No. Battery-less watches store electricity so they can keep running when they are not being worn. If the watch is fully charged when it is taken off, it will continue to keep time for between three and 14 days, depending on the watch brand and model.
Companies are working on ways to increase the length of time battery-less watches will run without being moved. Seiko has just introduced a Kinetic movement called the 1M which it claims will run for three months.
9. Can the wearer tell how long the watch will run once it is taken off?
Yes. Battery-less watches have a power reserve indicator that shows how long the watch will run once it is removed.
The mechanisms vary from brand to brand and model to model. In Seiko Kinetic models, the wearer pushes a button and the seconds hand moves to indicate how much power is left. The hand will move through a 30-second arc if it is fully charged. If it moves less than the full 180 degrees, the watch is only partially charged.
Some watches also have a warning system to alert the wearer that the power is running low. In Seiko Kinetic models, for example, the seconds hand moves in a jerking motion at two-second intervals to indicate that the watch has only a few hours' worth of power remaining.
10. How can the wearer get the watch running again if it runs out of power while it's not being worn?
You can start a battery-less watch by moving it vigorously. This action gets the rotor spinning, generating electrical energy. Once you've done so, the ordinary motion of your arm will be enough to keep the watch working. Manufacturers have also deviced other ways to start the movement once it has run out of power. The Omega-matic, for example, can be repowered by winding the crown, which generates electricity.
11. Will battery-less watches make battery-powered watches obsolete?
That a tough question, and opinions within the watch industry are clearly mixed. Seiko is putting enormous emphasis on its Kinetic technology; placing it at the center of its marketing campaign. SMH, which actively promoting its battery-less watches, is making less of a fuss about them than is Seiko.
Proponents of battery-less watches cite Seiko's success with Kinetic as a reason to expect battery-less watch to one day eclipse battery-powered ones. Skeptics point to ever-longer battery life -- some lithium-iodine batteries last 20 years-- when they question whether the advantages now offered by battery-less technology will one day become negligible.
If you want to buy a battery-less watches, please look into the replica watches market, such as Rolex replica,Porsche Design replica,Richard Mille replica,Zenith replica,Hublot replica,Ferrari replica watches,Breitling replica,U-Boat replica,Bell&Ross replica,Patek Philippe replica and Omega replicas.

History Of The Pocket Watch

Pocket watches were introduced in the 17th century. Prior to that, in earlier centuries, clocks were invented. They were rather large to carry around so inventors were working on ways to make them portable. Long time later, people invented the wristwatches, nowadays, you can find many good quality replica watches in the market, such asRolex Daytona replica,Rolex Datejust replica,Rolex Yacht-Master replica,Breitling replica,U-Boat replica,Bell&Ross replica,Patek Philippe replica and Omega replicas.

window.google_render_ad();
Pocket watches made it easier for workers to keep track of their schedules, and organize their days and time much more efficiently. Bosses could keep track on performance ratings and deadlines without wall clocks. Businessmen could keep track of business meeting lengths, and define their travel time, so that they could be accurately compensated for their time. The invention of the pocket watch made it easier to monitor the time for everyone.
At that time, pocket watches came in two varieties. There was the hunter cased and the open faced. The hunter cased pocket watches came with a cover, and looked similar to a ladies? compact. You may have seen one during the Victorian era period movies when a man pulls out his pocket watch, opens it, checks the time, and puts it back. As the name implies, open faced pocket watches do not have a cover.
When wristwatches came along, pocket watches became less popular. Wristwatches were made and they were smaller and more compact. The pocket watch was seen as bulky and less convenient than a wrist watch.
Pocket watches have become more valuable, as some companies started to give out pocket watches to retirees. The trendiness of pocket watches have swayed along the years. Some people collect them, while others consider them to be a ?status symbol.?
Pocket watches are very valuable depending on the age and the condition that they are in. There are a number of pocket watches still in existence and they can be difficult to acquire. So if you come across one, you may want to consider purchasing it, and keeping it.
My, how technology has advanced. We are no longer dependent upon wrist watches or clocks. We have portable PDAs, mobile phones, the television, radio and internet to tell us what time it is. However, the value and uniqueness of the pocket watch still lingers on. The same with the wristwatches, choose a good quality replica watch online, then protect it,you will find it is happy, such as Rolex replica,Porsche Design replica,Richard Mille replica,Zenith replica,Hublot replica and Ferrari replica watches.

Swiss Chronometers

Switzerland's mechanical watch boom has brought a surge in watches bearing a special designation on the dial: chronometer. Many replica watches also have a chronometer dial, such as Rolex Daytona replica,Rolex Datejust replica,Rolex Yacht-Master replica,Breitling replica,U-Boat replica,Bell&Ross replica,Patek Philippe replica and Omega replicas. What are chronometers? How are they different from regular watches? Why are they important? Why are they mostly mechanical watches? And what should you tell customers about them? For the answers to these and other questions, read on.
1. What is a chronometer?
A chronometer is an extremely accurate watch or clock. It takes its name from the Greek words (chronos + metron) meaning to measure time. A Swiss chronometer is a watch, usually mechanical, whose precision has been tested and verified by an official Swiss watch testing bureau. The watch comes with a ratings certificate issued by the institute. The chronometer designation is a badge of honor, proof that the watch is of superior quality.
2. What does a watch have to do to earn the title of chronometer?
The watch's movement must pass a battery of severe tests conducted for 15 days and nights. The movement's accuracy is checked in five different positions and at various temperatures which simulate conditions under which the watch will be worn.
3. Who conducts the tests?
The Swiss Official Chronometer Control (Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometeres, or COSC, in French). COSC is an independent association governed by the Swiss Civil Code.
Watch companies desiring the chronometer designation on their best pieces send movements to COSC. (COSC tests uncased movements; the companies case the movements after the tests.) COSC issues a performance certificate for each timepiece which successfully passes the tests.
There are three COSC centers in Switzerland where watch companies send movements to be tested--in Geneva, Bienne and Le Locle.
Switzerland has been officially testing chronometers since 1878. COSC as it exists today was founded in 1973.
4. What tests are run on the watch?
COSC conducts elaborate precision tests on the movements using cameras and computers, which analyze the data. COSC performs seven different tests. Failure to meet the minimum standard in any one of the tests means that a movement is rejected. The tests are complicated. Here is an attempt at a simple summary:
Test 1: Mean Daily Rate: After 10 days of tests, the mean daily rate of the movement must be within the range of -4 to +6 seconds per day. COSC determines the mean daily rate by subtracting the time indicated by the movement 24 hours earlier from the time indicated on the day of observation.
Test 2: Mean Variation in Rates: COSC observes the movement's rate in five different positions (two horizontal, three vertical) each day over 10 days for a total of 50 rates. The mean variation in rates can be no more than 2 seconds.
Test 3: Greatest Variation in Rates: The greatest of the five variations in rates in the five positions can be no more than 5 seconds per day.
Test 4: Horizontal and Vertical Difference: COSC subtracts the average of the rates in the vertical position (on the first and second days) from the average of the rates in the horizontal position (on the ninth and tenth days). The difference must be no more than -6 to +8 seconds.
Test 5: Greatest Deviation in Rates: The difference between the greatest daily rate and the mean daily test rate can be no more than 10 seconds per day.
Test 6: Rate Variation Due to Temperature: COSC tests the movement's rate at 8 degrees Celsius (46 degrees Fahrenheit) and at 38 degrees C (100 degrees F). It subtracts the cold temperature rate from the hot temperature rate and divides by 30. The variation must be no more than 0.6 seconds per day.
Test 7: Resumption of the rate: This is obtained by subtracting the average mean daily rate of the first two days of testing from the mean daily rate of the last test day. The resumption of rate can be no more than 5 seconds. Simple, isn't it? If a movement meets the standards, COSC issues a certificate designating it as a "chronometer."
5. How many movements does COSC test each year and how many certificates are issued?
In 1995, COSC tested 844,043 movements. That was down slightly (-4.5%) from 1994 when a record 883,714 movements were submitted for testing. The vast majority of the movements sent in for testing pass. In 1995, COSC issued 814,868 certificates, 96.5% of those submitted. That means chronometers represent about 2% of Switzerland's total production of complete watches.
6. Why are most chronometers mechanical watches?
Just one-third of 1% of the movements submitted for testing in 1995 (3,026 total) were quartz movements. That's because electronic quartz technology is by definition an ultra-precise form of timekeeping and there is less need to demonstrate a quartz watch's accuracy. That's not the case with mechanical watches. Even so, COSC has developed stringent regulations which quartz watches must pass before they can be called chronometers. Worth noting: by far the leader in Swiss quartz chronometers in 1995 with two-thirds of the total certificates issued was Krieger Watch Corp. of Miami Beach, Fla.
7. Do many companies apply for chronometer certificates for their watches?
More than 60 firms submitted movements to COSC in 1995.
8. How is the demand for chronometers?
Despite the drop in requests in 1995, there has been a surge of watch company applications for chronometers in this decade. COSC data shows that the number of movements submitted bottomed out in 1976 at 225,712. Requests did not pass the 300,000 unit mark again until 1984. It rose steadily throughout the late 1980s but has soared in the 1990s, reflecting the strength of Rolex, in particular, and the general revival of Swiss mechanical watches on world markets. In 1990, the number of movements submitted to COSC passed the 600,000 unit mark for the first time. By 1994, the number had reached 883,714, an increase of 43.5% over 1990.
9. Which firm is the leader in production of Swiss chronometers?
Rolex is the undisputed chronometer king. An amazing 83% of all chronometer certificates issued by COSC in 1995 went to Rolex--more than 675,000 of them. You get some sense of Rolex's dominance when you realize that only five firms (one of them a group, really) produce more than 6,000 chronometers a year. The second largest producer of chronometers is TAG Heuer (51,638 certificates in 1995), followed by Omega (31,135 certificates), the Cartier Group (6,393) and Bulgari (6,056).
10. What is the difference between a chronometer and a chronograph?
The terms sound similar but they have nothing to do with each other. A chronometer, as we have seen, is a superior timekeeper. A chronograph is a watch with a stopwatch function.
11. So what is a marine chronometer?
A marine chronometer is an instrument used on a ship at sea to determine the longitude by measuring the time. It was developed in the 18th century.Nowadays, there are many replica watches have a marine chronometer, such as Rolex replica,Porsche Design replica,Richard Mille replica,Zenith replica,Hublot replica and Ferrari replica watches.

Modern Jewelry History

The European Renaissance was a boon to all of the arts and innovation, and it opened the way for the religious Reformation that followed. We find the great artists of the time like Leonardo Da Vinci starting their careers by working with well-known goldsmiths of the period. Prior to his apprenticeship with Fra Filippo Lippi, Boticelli received his earliest artistic training in a goldsmith shop. It is known that Da Vinci, throughout his career, made jewelry designs for some of the prominent people who supported his artistic and inventive endeavors. All of the arts reached new levels of quality. The artisans of this time ushered in more modern approaches to the whole jewelry trade.

There was a rebirth of classical Hellenistic ideas and styles, and the work produced by craftsmen was very elaborate. Fortunately, collectors of Renaissance artifacts have procured pieces of jewelry from that time. So, there are a lot of items on view at museums all over the world, and in private collections. Interested parties can really examine the various works, and get a good idea of how these earlier artists manufactured a piece of jewelry.

Scholars can also get a good amount of information from the portraits painted by Renaissance artists. The paintings show precious stones placed neatly in the hairdos and hairpieces of upper class women. Producing these arrangements was a real challenge of the artisans of the time. Besides being goldsmiths, they had to study women.s hairstyles. The production of these ornaments became an art form in itself.

There was an increase in the brandishing of jewelry that spread all over Europe. Royal households attempted to outdo each other in every way, and that included which courts had access to the finest and most extravagant jeweled pieces. This type of competition was new, and had not been seen on such a level before.

When an artist set out to do a portrait special attention was given to the gems that were set in finely crafted necklaces. Some scholars make a whole study of the jewels worn by the upper classes of this period. Historical figures of the time were shown dressed in full regalia, and particular attention was given to the jewelry that they wore for the pose.

Henry VIII of England had a great passion for jewelry, and this passion was carried on by his daughter, Elizabeth I. History says that Hans Holbein the Younger introduced Renaissance jewelry into England during the reign of Henry the VIII. He was the primary designer of the monarch.s personal jewelry. Henry had hundreds of rings produced, and he specifically liked jeweled hats.

Women of these periods often wore more than one necklace. This habit was characterized by the wearer donning a choker, and second longer necklace like a lengthy strand of pearls. Sometimes, a third prominent piece was worn as a clasp for a cape or other loose fitting garment.

The pendant seemed to be the most popular type of jewelry worn, and the technology used to produce them was superb. Some were classical cameos. Later gold and other gems were added to designs to give pendants a colorful, polychrome look. Polychrome was used to produce jewelry with a lot of different themes using openwork motifs and several linked items.

In Europe rings were manufactured in a large variety of styles. Certain rings could be opened and closed, and poison or other substances would be stored there. The storage of poison in rings worn by upper classes is legendary, and has served writers well when they fabricate mysteries.

On the heels of Renaissance artistic contributions interest began to grow in Baroque art forms and it was especially prevalent in the 17th Century. This trend spread all over Europe. During this time artisans took the time to really view and study their craft and made improvements to it. There was a definite interest in floral art. Flowers became dominant themes for designers of fine jewelry. Other themes were used, but floral representations seemed to be the most popular.
The 17th Century marked an increase in the use of diamonds and other gemstones. Instead of wearing a bevy of jeweled items people started wearing stunning high quality pieces. The last monarch to wear jewelry to great excess was Louis XIV of France.

Brazil became a good resource for gem hunters who were looking for diamonds. Gem cutting became an important part of the whole jewelry trade, in large part, to the proliferation of diamonds. Rather than a focus on openware designs craftsmen started putting their attention on the gem itself. It was intended that the attention of the viewer should be brought directly to the stone that was prominent in the design. Lighter and airier pieces started being produced. Jeweled buckles started to worn on shoes. The Chateline became popular. It was put together with a watch case. Men wore it with their watches while women used it to tote household items such as keys and small personal possessions.

Josiah Wedgewood was an English potter who ventured into the jewelry trade, and made significant contributions to the technology involved in jewelry production. He introduced oval, octagonal, and round plaques that was used for all types of jewelry.

The Industrial Revolution of the 19th Century essentially created a jewelry market that was available to everyone. The middle class of a society could now purchases fine pieces of jewelry, and when imitation stones began flooding the market even those from working classes could afford a piece of jewelry.

Even though more mechanized and industrialized techniques were developed artisans remained true to their craft. The technical expertise in jewelry production did not waver. Technicians and goldsmiths drew upon all the stylistic traditions that had walked across the historical stage.

Commercial enterprises were formed to openly market the sale of jewelry. The firms of Faberge, Cartier, Tiffany and other great jewelry companies have their beginnings and roots in the Industrial Revolution. The Art Nouveau and abstract ideas such as Cubism with great artists like Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso contributing to the trade.

Jewelry production does have a global history, and elaborate designs did appear in Asia, mainly in India and China. However, jewelry production never reached the heights that it did in Mid-Eastern, Egyptian, Classical and European traditions. Craftsmen in South America and parts of Mesoamerica were known for their work with gold and silver. The work of early South American and Mesoamerican goldsmiths can be found at the Museo de Oro in Bogota, Columbia and at historical museums in Mexico City.

In the development of jewelries, watches also have a big development, nowadays, you can find some top quality replica watches in the market, such as Rolex replica watches,Richard Mille replica,Porsche Design replica,Zenith replica,Hublot replica and Ferrari replica watches.

Omega Watch

The beginning of the Omega story goes back to 1848 when Louis Brandt started developing pocket watches in his workshop at La Chaux-de-Fonds. Then in 1877 Brandt forms Louis Brandt & Fils company with Louis Paul his eldest son. In 1880 Louis Paul and his brother Caeser move the company to Bienne, where it remains today. The Brandts were one of the first swiss watch makers to utilize the divided assembly line which bought down the price of watches greatly with the improved quality and efficiency to be gainned from mass production. 1891 the company became Louis Brandt & Frere, then in 1903 it became Louis Brandt and Frere - Omega Watch Co, then Omega, Louis Brandt & Frere in 1947 and finally just Omega Ltd in 1982.

The first mass produced watch by Omega was in 1894, the Omega 19 line caliber (pocket watch). 1902 saw Omega introduce its first wrist watch. Movado Watch

Movado Watches: Time and Motion at Its Finest
The movado watch is one of the oldest timepiece brands in the world today. The first movado watch created by Achille Ditesheim by hand in 1881 in La Chaus-de-Fonds, Switzerland, started the long history of remarkable dedication to fine watch making. Although the makers of the movado watched stopped producing their watches by hand a long time ago, the philosophy expounded by the founder of this company still holds through today.
The movado watch had come a long way since it was first created and throughout the century, the movado watch has proven itself as one of the leaders in the industry. Translated into the English language, the word "movado" means "always in motion". For more than a century, the movado watch has lived up to its name and more. Since its creation in 1881, this watch has gathered over 200 international awards for creativity. The distinctive style of the movado watch makes it one of the benchmarks when it comes to quality and elegance in luxury watches. As proof of its conquest in the luxury watch industry, the movado museum watch is now considered as one of the must haves for the rich and the famous.
The Movado Museum Watch
This legendary museum watch was originally designed in 1947. Best known for its black clock face with a single point at twelve o'clock often marked with a diamond solitaire, the movado museum watch came to be known as the "boss's watch". According to the stories that accompany this legendary timepiece, the movado museum watch is a symbolic design best suited for the boss or the leader of an organization. Accordingly, the boss "decides" the time of the day. Since the boss doesn't have to be on time, there is no need for him or for her to keep track of the hours and the minutes of the day. True enough, although there are now some new designs that features some hour and minute indicators, the original design and still the most sought after design of the movado museum watch is that minimalist single dot design.
On the technical side of things, the creator of this design, the American designer Nathan George Horwitt actually designed this watch to be a replica of the sundial. The single dot of this movado watch represents the single point, which is the high noon on the sundial. However, whether you choose to believe in the tale of the "boss's watch" or still to the technicalities of Horwitt's explanation, the fact still remains that when it comes to luxury watches, the movado museum watch is simply one of the finest. A diamond ladies watch with mother of Pearl dial or a man's watch with the bluest of sapphire on it is definitely a must have for you.
Piece of Art on Your Wrist
Aside from the world famous movado museum watch, there are other styles and designs of movado watch that you can choose from. Known as a supporter of the arts, movado is one of the few watch companies that creates unique styles and innovations in watches. Whatever is your taste and preferences in watches, you can always find a movado watch that would satisfy your discriminating taste.
There are many movado designs and models that you can choose from. For men, one of the favorite model of movado mens watch is the SE Sports Edition watches that are made of the high performance stainless steel. Designed to be both sleek and sophisticated, this mens movado watch goes well with the lifestyle of the rich and the famous. Modern and very classy, the SE Sports Edition watches will never be out of place in the most fashionable and hip crowd. For women who love to dress up, the movado esperanza watch collection is definitely something to think about. Rolex Watches: Leader In Quality And Craftsmanship

Rolex is just about ?the name? in watches. You can tell by how many replicas and knock offs you come across. Everyone and anyone wants a Rolex watch. You can certainly buy a replica but, an authentic Rolex is much harder, and more expensive to come by.
By the 1900’s, the name of the company was officially changed to Rolex Watch Company.
They are the largest selling luxury item in the world today. Nowadays,Rolex is popular with people in all over the world because of its series, such as Datejust,Daytona,Day-Date,Prince,GMT,Yacht-Master,Submariner and Explorer.Although there are many many other top brands in the world, Omega,Richard Mille,Porsche Design,Tag Heuer,Breitling,Bell&Ross,U-Boat and Patek Philippe,Rolex is still the first choice for many many people.

Watch Crystal

1.What is a watch crystal?
A watch crystal is a transparent cover that protects the watch face. Note that, coincidently, the word "crystal" is also used to denote the tiny piece of quartz that serves as an oscillator in a quartz watch. These two types of crystals have nothing to do with each other. The latter is usually called a "quartz crystal" to prevent confusion.
2. What are watch crystals made of?
They can be made of any of three materials: 1- plexiglass (a clear, lightweight type of plastic), 2- ordinary glass - like that used for windows, and usually referred to in the watch business as "mineral glass" or 3- synthetic sapphire (see question 4). Some crystals are made of both mineral and sapphire glass. Seiko, for example, makes some watches with crystals made of mineral glass covered with a layer of synthetic sapphire. Seiko calls this composite material "Sapphlex".
3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each material?
Plexiglass, as you would expect, is the least expensive. It is also the least likely to shatter and the most likely to become scratched. Mineral glass, even though it has been hardened by a tempering process, is more likely to break than plexiglass. But it is also more scratch-resistant than that material. Synthetic sapphire is the most expensive glass crystal material and the most scratch resistant. Because it is so hard, it is also brittle, and shatters more easily than mineral glass or plexiglass.
4. What exactly is synthetic sapphire?
It is a very hard, transparent material made of crystallizing aluminum oxide at very high temperatures. Chemically, synthetic sapphire is the same as the natural sapphire used in jewelry, but without the coloring agents that give the gemstone its various hues.
When it is heated, the synthetic sapphire forms round masses that are sliced into pieces with diamond-coated saws. These disks are then ground and polished into watch crystals. (One reason sapphire crystals are relatively expensive is that the tools required to make them are costly.)
Sapphire (whether natural or synthetic) is one of the hardest substances on earth. It measures 9 on the Mohs scale, which is a system for rating the relative hardness of various materials. (Diamond measures 10, the highest rating.) Watch crystals made of synthetic sapphire are often marketed as "scratch resistant", meaning they are very difficult - but not impossible - to scratch. Diamond can scratch them; so can man-made materials that incorporate silicon carbide, with, with a Mohs rating of between 9 and 10, is, like diamond, harder than sapphire. These materials are sometimes used to make simulated-stone surfaces for furniture or walls. The watch wearer should note that accidentally scraping a sapphire crystal against such a surface could cause a scratch.
5. Can you tell if a crystal is made of sapphire by looking at it?
No. Mineral glass and sapphire generally look the same. A surefire way to tell them apart (albeit an often impractical one) is with a scratch test, says Johann Jorgo, technical director at Baume & Mercier Inc. New York. A stainless steel knife or screwdriver will scratch a mineral-glass crystal but not a sapphire one.
6. Are Scratch-resistant crystals new?
No. Synthetic sapphire was invented in the 19th century and first used for watch crystals in the 1960s. Now really all high-end watch brands use synthetic sapphire crystals in at least some of their models.
7. Are all scratch-resistant crystals made of synthetic sapphire?
No. Some mineral-glass crystals are also marketed as "scratch resistant." These crystals have a hard coating that makes them less likely to get scratched.
8. The terms "lunette", "bombé", "chevé", and "boule" are sometimes used to describe watch crystals. What do they mean?
All are French words that refer to the shape of the crystal. "Lunette" simply means round - like a full moon (lune means "moon" in French). Bombé, chevé and boule all mean concave, or dome-shaped.There are other words used to describe watch-crystal shapes. A "raised" crystal is flat on top but raised up, like a birthday cake. "Shaped crystals" are any that aren't circular - rectangles, square and ovals being the most common. "Cocktail" shapes are the more exotic and extreme examples of shaped crystals. They include elongated baguette and octahedral (eight-sided) crystals.
9. What are "anti-reflective" or "glare-resistant" crystals?
This type of crystal has been coated on one or both sides with a substance - the same one used on anti-reflective eyeglasses - that lessens reflections and glare and makes it easier to read the watch face. Anti-reflective crystals can be made of either mineral glass or synthetic sapphire. One interesting feature of these crystals is that, viewed from the front, they are virtually invisible because they aren't reflecting any light. In some instances, the coating gives the crystal a telltale bluish tint, as it does on eyeglasses. This tint is easiest to see if the watch has a light-colored dial.
10. How much do watch crystals cost to replace?
Consumers can expect to pay anything from perhaps $20 to $25 for a plexiglass crystal to more than $100 for a shaped synthetic sapphire one. (At Baume & Mercier, for example, synthetic sapphire crystals range from $65 to $135.) The average cost of a round mineral crystal is about $30 to $60. An anti-reflective coating adds to the cost of any crystal. In general, the more expensive the watch, the more the consumer will have to pay to replace its crystal.

There are some good watches with good watch crystal, such as Rolex,Omega,U-Boat,Bell&Ross,Richard Mille,Porsche Design,Tag Heuer,Breitling and Rado.

Longines Watch

The history of Longines goes back to 1832 when Auguste Agassiz started making watches in the watch making district of St Imier in Switzerland, under his company name Agassiz & Cie. 1854 Agassiz handed over running of the company to his nephew Ernest Francillon. Francillon decided that the traditional method of watch making, by which different parts of the watch were made by different craftsman around the local area, was not good enough in consistancy of quality and output. Keen on making all the watch components under one roof he built a factory in St Imier at a place called Les Longines (Long Meadow).

Francillion was a pioneer by nature, keen to expand on what was technically possible. The first chronograph Longines produced was in 1879, it then went on to produce the first automatic time keeping device in 1912. This wire cutting device, where an athlete broke a tape at the beginning and the end of the race, was a vast improvement over human error of using a chronograph. From this early start the name Longines has been assocciated with the big sporting events such as the Olympics and the forumula one for a long time.

In 1932 Longines made the first Lindbergh wrist watch, a watch that tells time in degrees of an arc such that reading longitude is made easier. Longines continues to make the Lindbergh range of avaitor watches today. 1969 Longines were responsible for the first quartz cybernetic wristwatch, then 3 years later in 1972 Longines produced the LCD watch with the aid of Ebauches SA and Texas Instruments.
The history of development continues with Longines, as it makes quite a few specialist watches. This includes the Conquest VHP, a wristwatch with accuracy of one minute in five years (five to ten times more accurate than the standard quartz wristwach). Also the conquest 1000 Oe which is resistant to strong magnetic fields (The level of which is only experienced by doctors, scientests or people whose work entails strong magnetic fields).

Longines continues to meet the requirements of the new century with its continual striving for precision. It also produces a wide range of precision watches for the ordinary person.

The same top brands as Longines are Rolex,Omega, Patek Philippe,U-Boat,Richard Mille,Porsche Design,Tag Heuer,Breitling and Bell&Ross.

Night Watch

Night Watches: A Nocturnal Superhero
With all the technological advances in watches today, none is more important than that of the Night Watch. Rather than just a handsome accessory, a Night Watch is an important tool in many of today's professions. Nowadays, many top brand watches produce night watches, such as Rolex,U-BOAT,Richard Mille,Porsche Design and Breitling.
Equipped with hands that are luminescent, or with a backlight that allow you to tell the time even when it is dark, night watches help policemen, security guards and pilots perform their heroic tasks.
Night Watches as Tools of the Trade
These professionals are often performing their duties during the night. To help them with their security and enforcement duties, security personnel need to take full advantage of variouse the many types of available technology. Often, security personnel need to log the times they check each perimeter and keep track of events that occur throughout the night.
In order to maintain such an accurate timetable, a night watch is essential. Through the use of a backlit wristwatch or a watch with illuminated hands, the accuracy of recording times associated with criminal activity can be easily recorded. Accurate time logs are essential when prosecuting accused criminals in a court of law.
Additionally, using a night watch can help keep the security personnel safe from harm. If the law enforcement officer is conducting surveillance of suspicious activity, turning on a dome light or other portable light unit would alert the individual being watched. By easily using a night watch, the time can be established and recorded with out alerting those individuals whose activities were being watched.
Functions for Flying
Pilots also benefit from a night watch as they need to keep their night vision sharp and unchanged by a bright night. Features oon pilots watches may include:
A rotating Slide rule, tachymeter or flight computer for helping with flight plans and calculations
A time zone converter
A stopwatch
These features along with the illuminated hands or backlight, make them perfect for flying safely and easily.
Seeing in the Dark
Whether you are using the night watch for one of the professions above, or simply the personal convenience of it, the technology used in night watches has benefited all aspects of our world today. The accuracy of a good watch benefits everyone in any job, but when your task is the security and safety of others, being able to "see in the dark" is a must.

How to Care for your Diamonds

Diamonds are often thought to be unshatterable. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Here are some useful handling and care tips.
Diamonds are brittle: If you hit a diamond hard, they WILL crack or chip if mishandled. Don't wear your diamond when doing rough work.
Storage: Store diamonds separately. When stored with other jewelry, diamonds may scratch other jewelry (or each other).
Cleaning: The best method for cleaning is a jeweler's polishing cloth. Most jewelers will clean your diamond ring for free if you are making another purchase in the store.
Nowadays, there are also some watches with diamond in,such as Rolex,Breitling,Bell&Ross,Omega,U-Boat,Richard Mille and Porsche Design, at the same time, you should also care for them to make them work for you longer.

The Top Ultra Luxury Watches

A recent survey has identified which wrist watches are considered to be the best by affluent consumers
A good wristwatch does more than tell time. Of course, many expensive watches can display the phases of the moon, the time of year, the precise second that just slipped away, and can even remind the wearer of an appointment. But the great ones complement your life, accessorize your wardrobe, becomes an heirloom to pass along to future generations and, as James Bond has taught us, in a tight spot become a very handy knuckleduster. The thought of knocking out someone's teeth with $50,000 worth of watch wrapped around your fist might seem a bit extravagant. Watches in this price category are also works of art. They are exquisite mechanisms created by talented craftsmen who do the seemingly impossible with gold, diamonds, springs, gears, and tiny tools. If you ever wondered why the best Swiss watches cost so much, just imagine a microchip, and then
imagine it was made by hand, and you begin to comprehend the layers of delicacy, skill, and precision we're talking about. That is why at the top of the watch chain, so to speak, the price of a Swiss-made Patek Philippe or Breguet can equal and quickly surpass most Americans' annual salary. For those people fortunate enough to be able to afford one, or more, of these high-end timepieces, the decision on which one to buy is rarely just about how well it can tell time. For many connoisseurs, what makes a watch desirable is the number of complications it can pack within its slender case. (Complications are mechanical functions of the watch other than the hours, minutes, and seconds.) The more complications, the more valuable the watch. In December, 1999, Sotheby's sold a watch with 24 complications for $11 million. The watch that holds the record for the most complications is a pocket watch Patek Philippe created in honor of their 150th anniversary in 1989. It has 33 complications including the date of Easter and a celestial chart with 2,800 stars.Other watch fanciers are less enthusiastic about the complications than they are about the bling. These customers want diamonds on their diamonds and often favor larger watches that can better display them. For both first-timers entering the world of high-end watches or chronophiles who have been collecting for years, one of the best ways to buy is to go with a well-known and trusted brand, such as Tudor,Rado and Ferrari. But the best-known luxury watch brands are not always the most sought-after by collectors, nor do they demand the highest prices.

In a recent survey of the top 17 ultra luxury watchmakers by the Luxury Institute, a Manhattan-based research group that tracks the wealthiest consumers in the U.S. and the companies that cater to them, Rolex and Cartier were the two best-known brands, followed by U-Boat,Breitling,Bell&Ross,Omega,Tag Heuer and Richard Mille. But in terms of brand status and overall quality, the respondents to the survey, each of whom has a minimum net worth of $5 million, said the winners were...

Luxury Watches Are Not Affected by the Recession

The United States of America, and indeed the world at large, is and has been experiencing one of the most trying economic times of recent generations. Many areas of an individual's every day life have been affected by this global recession, but there are some areas which have escaped the affect of this crisis. Luxury watches represent one such area. While it is easy to explain and understand that the wealthy are not often as affected as the middle man when it comes to economic disturbances, luxury watches illustrate an area of life that is more complex than just the fact that these are luxury items prone to being purchased by the wealthy.
However, to explain this segment of the equation, it is important to point out that many wealthy individuals do see luxury goods as a type of addiction. Whatever they purchase, it needs to be the very best, the very finest, specimen of its kind. Even when a wealthy person's income decreases, it can be very difficult for them to break themselves of this spending habit. Rather, the wealthy are likely to continue this type of spending, particularly on items such as those which are functional yet also indicative of social status and personal prestige. Nothing fits this category better than luxury timepieces.
However, the fact of the matter is that many of the luxury timepiece brands have been targeting the mainstream population as purchasers and recipients of these watches. Since a number of mainstream consumers would appreciate the opportunity to own something which may otherwise be considered exclusive. What helps this marketing tactic is that such timepieces are much more affordable now. For instance, they are more widely available thanks to the implementation of the World Wide Web. Having an increased supply of these items helps to lower prices, which is done in an effort for the companies to curb competition. This also makes the items more within reach for those who are not considered to be wealthy. The reason that so many people are inclined to purchase luxury timepieces even during economic trials is the fact that these are not just frivolous items. Rather, these devices are functional and in many instances necessary. Keeping track of time is incredibly important, be it for work, school or even personal experiences. Luxury timepieces offer wearers not just the necessary task accomplishing capabilities inherent to them, but also the ability to illustrate some semblance of prestige and status. This makes the investment in a luxury timepiece seem logical. They are durable, reliable and long-lasting. Consumers figure that they may invest a smaller amount of money in a less prestigious timepiece, but it will likely need to be replaced within a couple of years. To purchase a timepiece so often, it is likely that more money would be spent on less attractive timepiece than a single purchase of a more expensive, but ultimately longer lasting, timepiece. Since luxury timepieces are able to offer consumers so much more when compared to other industries and items, they have not experienced the same fallout of the economic recession seen in so many other fields and areas of consumerism.
Luxury watches are being more and more popular with people all over the world, and Rolex 2008 New Model,Rolex Datejust,Rolex Daytona,Rolex Submariner,Rolex Sea-Dweller,Rolex Day-Date,Rolex Yachtmaster,U-BOAT watches,Chopard,Dior,Rado,Richard Mille and Buberry are even popular.

Tag Heuer Watch

A Class On Its Own
Created in 1860 in Switzerland, the TAG Heuer watch company has thrived in its mission of achieving excellence and superb performance. The TAG Heuer watch making company was brought within the sleek, sporty ranks of TAG (Techniques d'Avant Garde) in 1985. The merger of these two world class companies was a match made in racing heaven. It is amazing to see how TAG Heuer watches have made the trek from timely precision to classic elegance.
The Grace of Speed
TAG is known world wide for producing parts for Formula One race cars. TAG Heuer watches were redesigned with a sleeker, sportier image in mind. Now you can have the high-end sports car look in a watch. You can also take a very deep walk off of a short pier, and still be able to tell what time it is for 650 feet. Of course, by that point, knowing the time is the last thing on your mind.
Sports seemed to align itself with Heuer long before Techniques d'Avant Garde entered the picture. In 1916, the elegant watch company released, to the amazement of the world, a stopwatch that was accurate to 1/100th of a second. The legendary Steve Mc Queen wore a TAG Heuer watch in the film "Le Mans" in 1971. They played a part in the 1920 Olympic Games, and have served as the official time keepers for the Indy 500 until 2003. TAG Heuer put themselves on a much bigger map by becoming the first Swiss watch to orbit earth.
Star Quality TAGs the Top
The sleek designs and exceptional workmanship have attracted some big names to TAG Heuer watches. Spokeswoman film siren Uma Thurman was recently dubbed by TAG Heuer as the "par excellence" when it comes to women. She sets the standard, exuding the kind of grace and poise that attracted the watchmaker from the beginning.
Another fine example of Heuer.s commitment to excellence is Tiger Woods. As a championship golfer, he has become synonymous with incredible performance and ambition. On and off the course, he is a man of true class. Woods has been very involved with the designing of a new TAG Heuer watch, the first ever professional golf watch.
NASCAR multi-champ Jeff Gordon is another of TAG Heuer watch.s hand-picked timepiece ambassadors. Gordon is a man who knows what he wants and goes for it, as his driving record clearly reflects. This is the same kind of spirit and attitude that has brought TAG Heuer where it is today.
The High-End of Time
Clearly, those who can afford the best choose TAG Heuer watches for their elegant design and impeccable quality. The accuracy of advanced technology, combined with the aesthetic design of the TAG Heuer watch artisans create unique timepieces. So whether you are diving into the depths of the ocean, or into the next adventure in life, a TAG Heuer watch will provide you with a sleek and reliable tool to get there.
Tag Heuer is a good choice for you,if you want to buy a good watch, also Rolex 2008 New Model,Rolex Datejust,Rolex Daytona,Rolex Submariner,Rolex Sea-Dweller,Rolex Day-Date,Rolex Yachtmaster,U-BOAT watches,Chopard,Dior,Rado,Richard Mile and Buberry are some good choices.

Swiss Watch

Precision and Craftsmanship
As time management has become one of the most valuable skills today, it is no surprise that people take their choice of a timepiece seriously. Swiss watches have cornered the market in precision watches for over a century. Partly science and technology, partly art and design, the Swiss watch is a wonder for many reasons.
The History Behind the Swiss Watch
The Swiss are as famous for their watches as the Italians are for fashion houses, or the French are for art and decadence. Art is just what these timepieces are. Regardless of the brand, each Swiss watch is still a masterpiece in its own right. Crafted with such precision and detail, they stay one step ahead of the competition by making perfection the standard to which the Swiss watch companies aspire. When your lowest bar is still shoulders above everyone else's highest, you are always going to be on top. The Swiss have established a reputation for themselves as consistently being the leaders of the pack.
The watch and clock empire began less majestic than what it is today in Geneva in the sixteenth century. At the time Calvinists were condemning the wearing of jewels. Faced with losing their businesses and livelihoods, jewelers and goldsmiths shifted their skills towards watches. The twentieth century saw a mass production of watches like never before. Watchmakers Frederic Ingold and Georges Lechot are credited as generals in charge of the revolution that changed how the Swiss watch was put together and functioned. Both production and profits soared.
Swiss Sleekness and Style
All that talk about fine workmanship and high standards aside, are one of these Swiss watches going to be the cat's meow on your lovely wrist or not? A very emphatic yes. Not only are they "like butter" inside, your Swiss watch is just as gorgeous on the outside. It is only natural that the makers of the finest watches in the world would be behind some of the finest, and most well known brands in the world: Swiss Army, Movado, Rolex, Zenith, Tissot, Beluga, Swatch, Wenger, Omega, and Piaget.
You are obviously going to pay more than you would the $20.00 wonders you find in shopping mall novelty stores. What you get in return is a beautiful watch, and assurance that you have invested in something that will not break down in a few months. If something does happen, you are covered with a warranty. It is also about buying from the best. If you want an incredibly amazing suit or classy dress, your list would include Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, or Versace. This is because they are the best of the best in fashion. You should follow that same principle when shopping for a watch, because you deserve the very finest.
Impeccable Taste
Your choice of a Swiss watch will provide you with a valuable tool for managing your life. It will also be a unique adornment that expresses your personal taste. The Swiss watch is readily available all around the world, and in any style that suits you.

It is great having at least two watches: one for our job and everyday wear, and a different watch for special occasion or formal wear. With so many watches to choose from, it is extremely easy to increase your collection when your daily wear watch stops working. It is much less expensive to care for your watch properly from the start.
Watch Functions and Service
Many watches include a special pamphlet that includes details such as:
How water resistant (can you shower or dive with your watch and if so, how deep you can dive with your watch)
How scratch proof (note: scratch proof only refers to the glass face of the watch)
How shock proof
Special care.
Carefully follow the directions in the pamphlet provided in order to avoid damaging your watch.
By servicing your watch consistently, you ensure that your watch will last for many years. This is especially appreciated for a designer watch as they are expensicve to replace. Usually, a standard watch will often last for around a decade and the designer brands will last for a lifetime if you follow the recommended precautions and maintenance.
Watchbands and Straps
Know that the watchband requires care as well, particularly when it contains a precious material such as sterling silver, platinum or gold. Makeup, sweat, and dust can gather in between each link also, and therefore need to be cleaned. When the watchbands that are made out of leather, ensure that you do not get them wet with water or other liquid, and even though your wacthband becomes more comfortable over time, it is recommend to replace them at least yearly.
Timely Watch Maintenance
If you are planning on purchasing an expensive designer watch that has special features like kinetic or automatic, you will want to schedule all the regular watch maintenance that is required to enjoy its benefits for the longest possible period of time. All care instructions should be provided to you at the time of purchase.
Rather than tossing a watch that stops working, look into the warranty or see a jeweler to find out what can be done. Watches serve as accessories as well as tools, and owning a variety can be fun. So take a look at your watch collection: sporty, dressy, professional. By caring for them properly, you will extend the life of your watch, and improve the quality of your life.
Do not wear magnetic bracelets along with a watch because the watch may not function properly as a result.
Sweet Sayings To Add to Your Watch Gift
Often it is nice to add a sweet saying to your gift to make it extra special. Here are some nice ones to add to a gift of a watch:
The time for us is now .. and in the future too!
Watch out, I love you!
Hopefully, I'll be more timely in the future.
I enjoy watching you.
I'll love you for all time.
I enjoy being with you all the time.
I'll clock you for it.
It's time for us....
You are fun to watch sports with.
I love having time with you.
You are the Alpha through the Omega for me.
Timex symbolizes my question: "What time can I see you next?"
Sorry this gift is late... I'll time it better next time.
